What is the diffrent when breeders talk about Higher generations and lower generations?
Higher generation: Savannah cats removed at the most up to three generations away from the “Serval cat”. This includes the F1 savannah(One generation removed from Serval), F2 savannah(Two generations removed) and F3 savannah(Three generations removed)
Lower generation: Savannah cats at least removed from the “Serval cat” four generations or more. This includes the F4 savannah(Four generations removed from Serval), F5 savannah(Five generations removed from serval) and F6 savannah(Six generations removed)
Interesting note: All cat breeds are a mixture of different breeds or even every day non-pedigree domestics. Even breeds like the maine coon still bring in selective outcrosses, this must be done to ensure new viable genetics. Surprise when I can point to “Golden doodles” which are a golden retriver bred to poodle mix or vise versa. “Golden doodles” come in F1, F2, F3s and so on.
