Hybrid Cat Laws
This page details the Hybrid cat law across the united states. Hybrid cats are crosses of domestic cats to exotic cats not pure exotic cats. This information is not for pure exotic cats, only for hybrid cats that are a cross of domestic cat to exotic cat. However do not assume this information is correct laws change weekly. Please check you state laws and local laws before assuming this is correct information. As of October,2010 this information is thought to be correct. Hybrid cats include: Savannah cats, Bengal cats, Chausie cats, the fake Ashura cat, Safari cats and more.
IMPORTANT: Quick list of states that have restrictions on hybrids cats:
Alaska – In July 2010 the new law is that 4th generation and higher are legal.California – Serval cats have many restriction almost impossible to own. Savannah cats are not restricted at this time.
Colorado – Denver only allows Bengal F4 or lower hybrid cats of any breed. Check local laws for more information.
Connecticut – No hybrid animals are allowed to be brought into the state due to their antiquated Rabies laws. Any hybrid cats brought in from outside of the state will be confiscated and put to sleep for rabies testing.
Georgia – 4th Generation and lower Bengals allowed only.
Hawaii – All hybrid cats & dogs banned.
Indiana – 3rd Generation hybrid cats and lower allowed.
Iowa – No hybrids of any kind allowed.
Massachusetts – 4th Generation hybrid cats and lower allowed.
New York – New york state hybrid cats under the F5 generation are allowed. However no hybrids of any kind in new york city.
